Sculptures Features

  • When you get into the Shop collection page and click on the product you have all its details. If you have further questions please Contact me.

  • Dejoi Art sculptures are made from a technique of paper mache and it uses paper pulp from paper and card waste, adhesive and wire/metal. Some can have a wood stand. They are painted with acrylic water based paints and protected with a matte sealer.

  • It depends on the structure and size of the sculpture. As it is made of layers, from framework to paper pulp sculpting, painting and sealing, and every layer requires a time for drying and curing, it can take from 1 to 3 weeks. Yes, it is a long and joyful process that ensures its shape, gentle details and on-going resistance.

  • No. Each Dejoi Art piece is already sculpted into its final position. By bending the sculpture the piece may crack (although it will never break).

  • Yes, Dejoi Art sculptures are resistant and sturdy and with the proper care they should last a lifetime. They won’t break however can crack or crest into sharp ends if they fall or are forced into a new position other than the original. If the sculpture presents visible wood parts or a stand, these parts can however break.

  • Dejoi Art sculptures are properly painted and sealed so they are resistant to water which means their surface repel it and offer some level of protection. However, they are not water proof. It is not recommended to expose or place the sculptures outdoors, in areas prone to humidity or in continuous contact with water as one of its main elements is cellulose (from paper) which is highly sensitive to water or humidity. Under these conditions the sculptures’ surface and structure could be damaged.

Comission

  • Yes! I joyfully accept commissions and can customise your family, friends or whoever you wish. The customisation focuses on type of clothing (dress or shirt & pants) , hair style and colours. I don’t change the overall height of the sculptures in order to maintain the design proportional and refined when hung. If you want any Joy-ned customised all you need to do is send me a reference picture or a brief description of what should be considered and I create the sculpture. Contact me or send an email to hellodejoiart@gmail.com with your request. Please note that customised items have an additional 20% charge over regular price and take 3 weeks to be made and shipped.

  • At the moment, you can find and buy the sculptures only on Dejoi Art website.

  • You can hang Joy-ned sculptures on the ceiling wherever you want as long as they are indoors and not exposed to humidity or excessive heat. We would recommend corners of living areas, kitchens, studies, powder toilets, entrance halls or bedrooms.

  • Just follow your taste! You can mix and match Joy-ned sculptures by composing a colourful or mono colour set, mixing characters at your preference. The more colourful, the more fun. They are not heavy items in design or size so they do not compromise your overall decoration, although their originality and authenticity will make a statement in any place. See the photos in our Gallery for ideas.

  • You can do this by using a simple ceiling hook. Each sculpture is 35cm to 38cm tall and weighs around 60g to 65g so if you hang 5 figures at once, for example, the total weight would be around 375g and you would need approximately 1.8 meters of height.

  • As many as you like, just be aware of the height of the ceiling and the hook is well fixed and can stand the total weight.

  • It is not recommended. They are decorative pieces, not toys. They are made of hard and soft materials that if bent or manipulated can crack or crest into sharp ends and your child can get hurt.

  • I do not recommend that you hang Joy-ned sculptures above a cradle, cot or any place of easy access of your baby. Joy-ned sculptures are not toys. They are made of hard and soft materials that if bent or manipulated can crack or crest into sharp ends.

  • Yes, the sculptures can be hung near windows as far as they are indoors. Please just keep in mind that some of the colours may fade from direct sun exposure.

  • It is not recommended hanging the sculptures in damp or prone to humidity areas. Although Joy-ned sculptures are resistant and well protected with paint and sealer coats, one of its elements is cellulose which is highly sensitive to humidity.

  • It is not recommended placing or hanging the sculptures outdoors. Although they are resistant and well protected with paint and sealer coats, one of its elements is cellulose which is highly sensitive to humidity.
