Art has been part of my life since my earliest memories. From the moment I could hold a pencil I began to create memories from my hand drawn characters and boxes of crayons and colourful pens became my great companions. This passion, deeply rooted in my upbringing, was inherited from my parents. My mother, a lighthearted soul, shared the beauty of art with deaf children at the Helen Keller Institute in Brazil. Meanwhile, my father, a remarkably talented designer, created caricatures and crazy surrealist paintings since his youth in France.

As I grew older, I took every opportunity to explore materials, techniques, and ideas and found in paper maché sculpting a wonderful avenue to channel my creativity, infuse enjoyment, fun, and excitement into art in decoration.

The simplicity of the main materials —paper, water and adhesive —combined with specific techniques and tools, allow me to impart a unique and personal touch, whether crafting whimsical creatures, intricate paintings, or decorative elements. I find joy in the process of building the structure, molding and painting, transforming basic ingredients into such a sturdy and expressive form. That’s why I named my shop as ‘Dejoiart’ (a whimsical way to say ‘the joy of art’).

For me, Art in decoration is a comforting and joyful mean of storytelling through colors, shapes, and styles. It's a way to express your inner self and be embraced in the warmth of your place.
